I won!

Dear Anna-Lisa,

I just won the Amy Butler Laptop Cover & MP3 Case pattern through the Sew, Mama, Sew Back to School giveaway this week! I love their blog because they have such a huge archive of awesome sewing projects; I am already bookmarking ideas for Christmas gifts. Each Friday they have a Free Fabric giveaway, which you enter by just commenting on the post. They choose a theme for each month, August is Back to School, and normally have giveaways relating to the month’s theme, too. I’m excited to see what they have planned for tomorrow, since it’s the start of September.

I had to edit my project list a little. Raspberry jam is out. I didn’t do as much canning as I had anticipated this year, but it was such a hot summer that I wasn’t really in the mood for standing over a boiling pot all day. I am still hoping to make the Nine Patch Doorstop and to cover a chair in the living room. I’m adding the Laptop Case (or two, or three) to my list, as well as Amy Butler’s Weekender Bag. As the weather will be cooling, I should probably also add the Wilson’s Warbler Cardi, which has been languishing in a basket behind the couch since the Olympic Games.

What are your crafty plans for this fall? I know you want to finish the little gloves you started. What else?

Love,

Kerstin

Dear Anna-Lisa,

I didn’t finish my  Wilson’s Warbler Cardigan, but I do have some Flakey Baby Socks to show you! These are super quick and fun to make, especially in my sumptuous favorite, Malabrigo. I made these to match the Child’s Placket Neck Pullover I made a few months ago. Here’s hoping they fit the recipient at the same time.

I’m going to continue to plug away at my cardigan in the evenings. I’m hoping to wear it before it’s too warm (although there’s little chance of that around here). I can’t wait to see the finished photos of your bag!

Good morning!

Dear Anna-Lisa,

I fear I’m not going to make my Ravelympics deadline of tomorrow night. I’ve only used 4 out of the 8 required skeins of Queensland Kathmandu DK for my Snowbird Cardi, which we’ve dubbed the Wilson’s Warbler Cardigan. This means I’m about half done, lol. The rest is pretty much stockinette with some increases and pockets, but still, it’s slow going. How’s your bag? I can’t wait to see photos!
